
Reverend Sean Ramsey
Senior Pastor
REVEREND SEAN RAMSEY, a native of Chicago, Illinois was born on March 19. He began his Christian experience at an early age, and was baptized at New Faith Missionary Baptist church.
Reverend Ramsey accepted his call into the Gospel Ministry in 2009 and on November 29, 2009, he began his preaching pilgrimage, preaching his first sermon at New Faith Baptist Church adding him to the long list of called and qualified ministers within the Ramsey and Wilson Family. Having a larger calling on his life, On September 1st, 2019, Minister Ramsey accepted the opportunity to serve as the Pastor of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chicago as a Synodical Authorized Minister. And on October 15th, 2023 Reverend Ramsey was officially installed as the Pastor of our great church.
It is evident that God’s favor and hand is upon his life. Each Sunday he strives to bridge the gap between older and younger generations through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word.
Reverend Ramsey now resides in the South suburb of Chicago in Frankfort Il. with his wife of 32 years, Linda, and three children, Kevin (35), Jessica (29), and Jalen (25).

Raven-Seymone Johnson has recently stepped into her new role as President of the Church Council, bringing both enthusiasm and a deep sense of purpose to her leadership. She is passionate about serving the broader church community and is committed to fostering unity, growth, and meaningful engagement among its members.
With a heart for service and a clear vision, Raven-Seymone aims to be a steady and guiding voice, helping the council navigate both the spiritual mission and the practical responsibilities of the church. She looks forward to working collaboratively to strengthen ministries, support the congregation, and advance the church’s goals with wisdom, integrity, and faith.

Beatrice Alorsey
Vice-President Council
Beatrice Alorsey has recently been appointed as Vice President of the Church Council, stepping into the role with a lifelong connection to the church and a deep-rooted passion for service. Having been a member since birth, she brings a rich understanding of the church’s history, values, and traditions, shaped by her upbringing within the ministry.
Beatrice is eager to take on a more active leadership role in helping to guide the church’s future. With an open mind and a welcoming spirit, she is always receptive to new ideas and fresh perspectives that can strengthen the church community. She is especially excited to build deeper connections with the congregation, working collaboratively to support both the spiritual growth and overall mission of the church.

Andrea Wilkes
Council Secretary
Andrea Wilkes has recently been appointed as Secretary of the Church Council, stepping into her role with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to service. As one of Bethany’s newest members, she exemplifies the call for individuals to go beyond simply occupying a seat, choosing instead to actively engage and use their gifts to strengthen the church community.
With a natural heart for administration, Andrea brings valuable organizational skills and attention to detail that will support the effectiveness and mission of the council. In her professional life, she is employed with the Chicago Public School system as a Business Specialist, further demonstrating her expertise in organization, operations, and stewardship.
She is eager to serve the broader membership and looks forward to contributing in meaningful ways. Andrea is excited about the opportunity to make a lasting impact and to help shape the future of the church through her dedication and service.

Katherine Lee
Worship Committee Chair
Katherine Lee has faithfully served as Chair of the Worship Committee for many years. A dedicated and longtime member of Bethany, she brings a deep passion for ministry to every aspect of her service. Katherine remains a cornerstone of the congregation, thoughtfully shaping the atmosphere and flow of worship. With a sincere heart for the Pastor and his ministry, she is committed to helping the congregation lift our worship to even greater heights in honor of God.

Pamela Williams
Finance Committee Chair
Pamela Williams currently serves as Chair of the Finance Committee. Raised at Bethany for most of her life, she has a deep passion for serving and helping the church grow. An experienced accountant, Pamela brings expertise and diligence to managing the church’s financial stewardship with care and precision.

Keith Rochester
Property Committee Chair
Keith Rochester serves as Chair of the Property Committee, overseeing all church property projects, big or small, with dedication and care. A longtime member of the church, he takes great pride in the upkeep and beautification of the facility. He is also the primary contact for anyone interested in renting the church or fellowship hall.
