Sunday Morning Worship Service

This week at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, we explored the powerful message found in Gospel of Luke 7:11–15: “The Funeral’s Cancelled.”

In this passage, Jesus encounters a grieving widow on her way to bury her only son. What looked like the end of the story was interrupted by compassion, power, and restoration. With just a word, Jesus transformed mourning into hope and despair into life.

This message reminded us that God still has the power to step into situations that seem final. Even when circumstances appear lifeless, hopeless, or beyond repair, God is able to bring renewal, healing, and unexpected breakthrough.

Sometimes what we’ve already given up on is exactly what God is preparing to revive.
